The Academy Program
The Academy Program philosophy is to emphasize individual player development over team development and to focus on the technical development of each child without the pressure of short-term wins/losses/results.
The North Carolina Youth Soccer Association State Academy Program will be offered for the U9 and U10 age groups for both boys and girls. Participants are selected via a tryout process and are recommended to participate in the program for a full year (Fall and Spring seasons). Matches are scheduled between the Academy players (in-house inter-squad matches) as well as against other local Academies. Academy players are pool trained (meaning the whole group practices together twice a week) and may be divided into different team groups on a weekly basis to help ensure competitive matches. Academy players also participate in one overnight Academy Festival each Season, Fall and Spring, where they are able to play against other Academy groups around the state of North Carolina.
The Academy program is offered through expanded programming with the Highland Football Club. This partnership allows Henderson County players to train in Henderson County and benefit from the professional staff and training offered through HFC.
HFC Henderson County Academy Evaluations will be held in May. Visit abysa.org to sign-up for evaluations!
